Corporate platform for an Angolan mining consultancy
Corporate web platform for an Angolan mining consultancy and training company, serving as the digital front door for a business selling technical consulting, mining equipment, and courses to clients across Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, and the DRC. Public visitors browse services, an equipment catalogue, courses, team and project case studies, and submit contact/quote requests. Staff manage every piece of content through a full back-office admin panel — no code changes required.
The Problem
A static brochure site couldn't keep up with a business that needed to publish new courses, toggle equipment availability, and curate client testimonials on its own. The company needed a self-service, multilingual (PT/EN/FR) platform that felt credible to prospective clients while giving the non-technical operations team full control over content.
Key Features
- ▸Custom column-based i18n (no translation package) — translatable models store _en/_fr sibling columns resolved through Eloquent accessors with automatic fallback to Portuguese
- ▸Lean role-based access via two purpose-built middleware, instead of pulling in a full permissions package
- ▸Open-redirect hardening on the locale switcher — the Referer host is validated against the app URL before redirecting back
- ▸Moderated user-generated content: client testimonials are created inactive and capped at one per user, requiring admin approval before publishing
- ▸Consistent admin CRUD pattern across nine resource types, each with a dedicated soft activate/deactivate toggle route
- ▸Rate-limited public endpoints (contact form, login) to blunt spam and brute-force without extra infrastructure
- ▸Custom-drawn SVG branding, not a template or stock asset

They communicate via internal HTTP API — if the shop goes down, the SGA keeps running. Payments via EMIS GPO (Multicaixa Express + Angolan bank card).
